paint my hoops?

paint my hoops?
I'm getting ready to build my hoop cover, and had the thought to spray paint the PVC black so as to be less noticable from the street (HOA concerns). Should I be concerned with the paint leeching into the soil? I suppose I could paint just the part that would NOT be in the ground.
And what about paint on a trellis?
Thanks,
Tracy

I don't know that I would be concerned about it leeching into the soil as long as you allow it to dry completely. But, I'm not a chemist, either. If spray paint can stand the rain when it's on your chair, I imagine it can stand the rain on your hoops, too.

Re: paint my hoops?
Your plants wont get any sunshine if you do that and they will probably not grow. WAIT, i thought you meant the plastic cover...
I think it's bedtime!

Re: paint my hoops?
Oh, the paint would just be for the pipes. I also intend to use my hoops as support for deer netting for the critters, so they will be a fairly permant fixture in my garden.
Oh, I didn't read the end of your response. Sorry.

Re: paint my hoops?
I spray painted the conduit for my trellis for the same reason. I have a black metal fence and I thought it would just look nicer and more "finished" to have the trellis match. I was also thinking about doing the hoops but I haven't done so yet.
I wouldn't worry about the soil as long as you let the paint dry and cure, but that's just me.

Jazzy,
Regarding HOA concerns....
Share a piece of the harvest with the HOA board members at your next local meeting. Supply them with a yummy homegrown salad and perhaps those concerns will melt away as quickly as the food.
No....of course not dear board members, I'm not trying to bribe you......
