Seed and Plant Spacing
Since it's planting time, thought this might be helpful. Saw this on a video from an Master Garder in Texas.

Re: Seed and Plant Spacing
Bruce that looks good and is very helpful.
I do have one question about the 18 inch spacing, wouldn't that be a maximum of 4 squares? You could also put some smaller plants like leaf lettuce, carrots, radishes or beets around the outside edge of the four square area.

Re: Seed and Plant Spacing
Someone here explained the shortcut to this exact thing.
12 inches across make a square foot. Divide plant spacing on package into 12 and square it (multiply by itself).
For example....
3" spacing. 12/3 = 4. 4^2 = 16 per square.
4" spacing. 12/4 = 3. 3^2 = 9 per square.
And, so on.
Thanks to whoever that was......stand up and be recognized!!
