Waiting waiting waiting.... Empty Waiting waiting waiting....

I ordered a bunch of seeds way back in January (beating the rush?) from Bakers Creek for the first time. I got a free packet of seeds and a cute little hand written thank you note. A few orders later and I have since fallen in love with them in the past few months. I made a recent order last Friday night for a few seeds... cutting it close now! But now I'm waiting... And waiting sucks. I get all excited everyday right before the mail carrier comes only for the disappointing empty mail box or (groan) a bill. My anxiousness started early, impossibly early, I started looking longingly at the the little black magic box by the street on Monday. I know I haven't been waiting all that long but this is torturous.

Anyone else overly excited and waiting on seeds?

Wonderful news.

At least they weren't backordered.

In zone 7 and Washington state, I'm surprised you aren't in your garden already? What is your frost date if you don't mind me asking? I know you have a longer growning season than I do. I am just curious.

But, to answer your OP, yes, I get excited waiting on seeds. But, I get more excited waiting on my lettuce harvest. I have my wife put me in handcuffs for a couple weeks so I don't start cutting too early.

Handcuffs have more than one use, you know....lol.

I'm not 100% sure on my zone because different websites say different things. My last frost date is april 7th. I could have started cool crops in Feb according to the Alamanic but I hadn't read the sfg book yet and I'm just starting and learning. I'm in a weird place climate wise, we don't get a whole lot of snow, maybe an inch or two most years, occasionally 6 in total, nothing ever stays longer than 48 hours. We usually only have one or two days that get frost past mid February. Just north of me it is a little colder on average and it is dubbed "The Palm Springs of Washington".

I can directly plant Tomato seeds April 7th. From what I understand our season is longer? It goes into late October early November before our first frost.

I wanted to get a hoop house going but can't afford to buy mm until this next months pay check.... a little at time then my garden can grow!

This is a very long answer to what should have been a simple question, haha. I'm learning patience through this whole experience.

I almost bought it in January but I thought I shouldn't try anything new my first year doing sfg... but then I saw a culinary cookbook at B&N with a picture of it on the cover two weeks ago... I had to go back and order it, the universe was telling me too! :o) I can't wait to try them.

I grew Dragon Tongue beans in the fall. They did great and I'll plant some more next week when I pull up the last of my winter veggies. They are kind of wide and flat. One of my favorite things about gardening are all the new veggies I'm trying just because they look fun!
