Peas and onions are in....
And boy, was that easy. Went through the work of establishing the SFG last spring... now comes the easy year, I guess. LOL. Pulled a few tiny errant weeds, poked holes in the dirt with my fingers, and dropped in a few seeds/onion sets.
Kept getting different advice, but decided to go ahead and plant the peas and onions. Figured if they don't grow, it cost me 28 cents in onions, and 32 pea "seeds" out of my packets. If no sprouts in 2 weeks, I replant the peas. Last year I got my onions in way to late to do anything, so I was determined to get them in early this year. Hope the next few cold nights don't hurt them.
The garlic I planted last fall is looking beautiful!
My big project.... I have one 4x4 bed and one 4x8 bed that I am going to relocate to place 3 4x8s in the very small area of my backyard that actually gets sunlight. I have "volunteered" my parents into helping me with this project. And I think I have found an area in my yard I might actually be able to plant grapes and raspberries, which will require some 2 ft wide beds...... then I think I will actually have plants everywhere I can have them.

It really seems we start small and then whoosh, the next thing you know three more 4 X 8's. It's a familiar story around here. Congratulations on planning the new boxes.
