out of the box in Iowa
Breaking news about a native Iowan. This man fed a whole lotta folks. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20110323/NEWS/103230354/-1/LIFE04/Borlaug-statue-placed-U-S-Capitol
Re: out of the box in Iowa

Borlaug
in 1986 Dr. Borlaug begun what now is called the world food prize an organization which does much to encourage and also to honor those who make significant contributions to the world food supply. The Ruan family provides much support to it and former Ambassador Kenneth Quinn is director. It is quite an organization which they hope will rival the Nobel in the future. Considering it's contributions it may be well on it's way to those goals. Their website is worth looking at if food and agriculture is important to you. It is headquartered in Des Moines in the Ruan Tower and is currently in progress at remodeling the old downtown public library as its new headquarters. My hat is off to those who have supported this effort. http://www.worldfoodprize.org/
