Embarassed Quiltbea and Hippie....I shouldn't complain compared to you two. I am ashamed of myself. At least I got my peas in the ground last weekend, and have them under a hoop. They should be ok....a few inches of snow won't hurt them I don't think...

Momma I've had more snow than that on peas without a hoop over them and they were fine (I needed a chill pill but the peas recovered nicely). But than again, I am not in Idaho, burrr.

No need to feel ashamed my dear. March is always a crazy month but when you are used to a certain type of weather at a certain time it gets discouraging when you have things planned and you get that @#%$. It is a swear word at this time of year for sure.

Take care.

Gwynn

PS. I feel guilty complaining about snow when other people have earthquakes and tsunamis, their houses are demolished, they have no place to go and then they get snow. At least I am warm and dry and safe. Shame on me!

The weather is even starting to wear on the life long Oregonians in my neck of the woods (north Willamette Valley). Soil temps are still low. I planted peas, bok choi and beets, tented them with agribon fabric and am still waiting for germination.

OFF TOPIC: I keep a list of local dream vacations and your home area is on my list! Spring, early summer trip to winery/bed and breakfast in Willamette Valley! I can't remember where I saw it but I heard there was a nice little b&b to go to that was reminiscent of the french country side. :o)

AND I'M BACK: I hope the Westsiders get some sunshine soon.... we have been wetter than normal ourselves over here in central WA. We usually have some nice sunny warm days to take a break from the rain but it's been on and off rain/sun all in the same day. The entire PNW seems ready for some all blue sky, warm spring, early summer days :o)

Are you sure you looked up the right place? That doesn't look like your part of the world.
