Hello from Central Germany!
Excited about finding this forum as I am planning my garden for springtime. I live in the Vogelsberg mountains about an hour north of Frankfurt, we are at 370 meters above sea level here. It is still quite cold here, this morning it is a crisp minus 5 and sunny. So we are in the planning stage, not too much can be done outside yet. I look forward to some interesting reading and perhaps some discussion too!
All the best to you all

Welcome! Although seeing your post made me wish I was where you are! We have friends in Mainz and Polheim and I wish we could see them more often. I have to say the thing I remember most about our trip there a few years ago was the BEAUTIFUL gardens. Can't wait to see what you do!

Re: Hello from Central Germany!
Wilkommen!
I'm LaFee, the regional host for the Europe forum -- I'm in the Paris region, so not far from you, but we managed to get to 3 today...but we had sunshine for the first time in a few days, so I'm happy with it.
I'm just getting my seedlings started...and hoping that my daffodils (narcisses) and tulips don't freeze, as they've already started to send up some buds (and buds on my lilacs -oh yay!)
You'll find lots and lots of information already on the forum, and lots of people in similar climates who can help with any other questions.
Don't forget to post photos if you can -- you're in one of the prettiest regions in Germany.

Welcome
Welcome to the forum, Elayne.
My daughter has a hair-raising story about driving around Frankfurt during rush hour on the Autobahn. She was on her honeymoon, and only after getting their rental car did she discover her new husband did not know how to drive a stick shift. That was not a good thing. She learned how to drive on a car with a stick shift, but she was too young at the time to sign on for the rental car. She was grateful when they safely made it to an exit, chugging and stalling all the way.
