Howdy Folks:

It appears that the heirloom seed movement is starting to show up in the big box stores. Today the local Lowe's had Ferry Morse brand seeds for Abe Lincoln, Big Red, Box Car Willie, Purden's Purple, Big Rainbow, Black Krim and Mortgage Lifter tomato seeds along with the "normal" hybrids. Nice to see.

God Bless, Ward and Mary.

Saved me from starting a new thread (kinda) ...

Home Depot in Tampa had Russian Heirloom TRANSPLANTS on the shelves this weekends.

Very limited types (looks like they are testing to see if consumers want).

I picked up a couple of "Black Prince" Russian heirlooms to see how good their stock is.

Black Prince Russians are sooooooo good. I only harvested a few last year, but loved the taste.

I get to go to a Big Box Store next week - WooHoo! Big trip to Eugene (100 miles away) and a side trip to Territorial Seed Co. bounce Deep Purple Carrots are on my list 12-14 in long and dark purple color all the way through. By the way, I ordered my Grafted Brandywine and a Grafted Japanese Black Trifele, plus a transplant of each, not grafted. Doing a comparison for myself of grafted vs standard plants. Delivery late April.
