We got our first frost last nite. I know cabbages don't mind a few light frosts, but I thought I'd harvest them anyway. I only had 3 minis left so I pulled them and tossed the roots into the surrounding woods to compost. I didn't want any chance of clubroot in my compost pile.

Here's the three. They are Super Red 80 Mini-cabbages. As you can see from my hand, and I have a large hand, they are really small.
I started them from seed last spring and covered them against flea beetles early. It worked great so I'll do that again next year. I used floating row cover over hoops of bent wire clothes hangers clipped on with spring clothes pins. All my cabbages were healthy and robust and undamaged.
I gave them to my dau-in-law for cooking this weekend.

What a nice variety for a family of two. I may try to look these up and try them next spring or fall. Thanks for the photo.

Congrats on your harvest. Sorry about the frost.
Nothing better than a harvest after a long wait.
