Crops to plant now for spring harvest?
Wondering what plants will grow (I'm in southeastern pa, zone 6-7) if I plant them now.
I am going to put in garlic for a spring harvest. Also will plant pansies (always prettier in the spring when I plant them the fall before).
Anything else I can plant either to harvest in winter or next spring if I plant it now?
Thanks!
Terri

Re: Crops to plant now for spring harvest?
- garlic
- baby pak choi (a.k.a. bok choi)
- kale
- spinach
- Chinese greens
- spring onions (from seed)
- carrots
- radishes
One of the above that I'm trying is a baby pak choi this fall ( http://rareseeds.com/cart/products/Extra_Dwarf_Pak_Choy-470-163.html ). I've done successive plantings, since I don't want it all to harvest at the same time. Looking forward to the stir fries!
Today it's 92 degrees here in WV and the first day of autumn is tomorrow! I still have lots of tomatoes coming on, zucchini, cukes and peppers coming out the wazoo. Lettuces and spinach doing well, almost time to enjoy again. If I knew it were going to be warm like this I would have planted more beans!

You can also plant cabbage, collard greens, mustard greens and turnips.

I am definately going to try carrots, turnips.. and I actually did put in radishes the other day.. and glad to know it isn't too late for my slow growing cabbage!!!
