Can you share your layout?

I have a 8x4 box and I'm doing: cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, 2 kind of lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, celery, spinach, and strawberries (those will be planted on pots). I know how much I can sew per square but I'm having doubts with my layout. Can you please share yours or help me with mine?

I'm also wondering which cucumbers and tomatoes I can do on the vine? Does it matter?

I'm such a total newbie. I thought I had read up on it but since I'm lurking here, I'm realizing I don't know anything lol

the best way to get tips on changes to your layout is post your lay out.
To let us see if there are parts of your layout that need changing.

I was planning to put the box on the west fence side with the tomatoes and cucumbers on the fence. The west side has just a little shadow in very early morning. Other than that it's just sun.

i see few problems right off bat
do have any idea what you plan on put where the spinach and lettuce is when they harvested. as for rest you will also have fill space when cabbage,cauliflower,broccoli are ripe.
besides that i would put spinach and lettuce up front.
Also you will need to stagger plant the cabbage, so it does become ripe all at once
Plus you need to have strategy to deal with cabbage worms.
tall and trellis plant in back short plants up front.

Hmm I was thinking about doing a second round of the same? Can I do that?

I need to look up "stagger planting", and I haven't thought about cabbage worms...

I'm not familiar with some terms as I'm still learning English Can you share your layout? Icon_biggrin

I will have three boxes this summer.
2x4; 2x6; 4x4

My trellis will be behind the top row of my 2x6 and I'll have various flowers in front.

We are just two people slowly converting from flowers in our boxes to veggies so my gardens are a combination. My 2x2 will have some veggies, herbs and flowers

I will rotate my veggies as the season progresses and the squares clean out.
I'll plant the radishes and lettuce in shifts, some each week or two and cut the outside lettuce leaves as they grow rather than waiting for the plant to mature.

I tried to post the 4x4 box pic but I think I'll have to put that one in the next post. Didn't seem to like to different tinyurls??? ... Well, that's not working!!! ... Well, then maybe it did. I'll just forget about the 4x4 right now! Can you share your layout? Icon_biggrin

Stagger planting means that you "stagger the planting" - plant one square of cabbage on one day then plant the next square of cabbage a week later. This allows the plants to become "ripe" a week at a time instead of all at once. I do this with my lettuce and spinach. I plant a few squares of each. A few weeks later I plant a few more squares.

Tim, this makes sense, and I was wondering why some gardens looks "so empty" in the beginning lol. Thanks for the explanation.

first if technical questions try ask them in forum for that instead going offtopic on other threads.

After harvesting a square you will want to plant a succession crop.
such as
spinach -> radish ->bush beans ->Chinese cabbage
spinach -> cucumbers->radish
early pea->tomatoes
lettuce->carrots
I can post more since have several charts on the subject.
