At least I feel I'm doing my part for the economy.
I read yesterday that rich folks are not buying anything, and us poor folks keep spending. Might as well spend it as interest rates are not improving.
Here's the one I ordered. It just seemed like such a great bargain, even though it is fairly small. The sales rep said it should stand up to 50 mph winds -- we get gusts into the 40's in the the winter/spring. I figured a small one like this would be easier to heat in the winter, and if I add an upper vent, I should be able to use it in the spring and fall. I love the fact it comes with its own shelving. I'll keep you posted when it arrives and is erected. And, yes, I am excited -- just what I needed to round out my SFGs.

Great for you! Now think how much food money you will save, when you grow all the luscious vegg in your own garden. It will pay for itself in no time! Enjoy, and get a good bang out of it!
Re: I just ordered a greenhouse <sigh>
I'm so jealous! Next month is my 43rd anniversary. I think I'll show this to DH.

greenhouse
Yeah!!! I just got mine and it's up but its too hot here right now, am waiting for the fall /winter season to try it out, mine's not very big either and I did get a deal on it ! I only paid $100.00! I will post a picture later !
BTW, what are you going to use for the floor? I used stepping stones, bricks, and gravel. I originally wanted just a 6x8 , that was the size of the frame we put in the ground, but although the sign said 6x8 it was 8x10 ! oh well it was a foturnate mistake cause now I have extra storage!

Re: I just ordered a greenhouse <sigh>
My husband looked at me like I'd lost my marbles when I told him I want a greenhouse (about that size) for my birthday.
What? It would mean I could grow stuff until the dead of winter!
No, it's not that -- it's that "I want a greenhouse for my birthday" is absolutely the last thing I ever thought I'd hear come out of your mouth...for someone who's not a gardener, you sure seem to like this gardening thing!
...I found a cold frame at Lidl marked down to 10E -- it won't go over my entire SFG, but it will cover enough of it to manage some cauliflower and other winter things -- anybody ever grow lamb's lettuce? It's called mache here, but seems to be very cold-hardy.

greenhouse vs. chicken tractor ???
greenhouse
It was at Lowe's and I'm sorry to say that I got such a good deal cause it was the last one and the manager told me he wanted to get rid of it because it was the display model and it had pieces missing, he said if you want it for $100. then we are a hardware store too and you could just replace the parts missing but he could not sell it full price! I think originally it was $299. I'll try to post a picture. The name of the company is Spring Gardener, the model I have is 70810. The website is www.jewettcameron.com ph.# 800-955-2879bonniesherbals wrote:can you send us a link to the one that you got, only $100???

Re: I just ordered a greenhouse <sigh>
Wow, Angel -- you really got a great deal. I wanted a 8x10 or 12, but found the 6x10 at a great price, so went with that. And yes, I'll post pics as I erect it. For now, it will go directly on the ground, but I will pave the inside with the brick that was left on this property. That will be a nice winter task.
Edited to add: I just looked up the one Angel purchased and it is available through walmart.com for $215.00. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Spring-Gardener-Gable-Greenhouse-Model-IS-70810-8-Hx8-Wx10-L/13376623?wmlspartner=m7IpELVFEZY&sourceid=26371215021333822835
It didn't dawn on me to look at Walmart for greenhouses! I almost wish I'd found this one as it's larger than the one I ordered.

Thx Belfrybat ! I'm looking forward to seeing yours too! I know you'll be real happy with it ! you are lucky to have the bricks left there ! where are you putting it? how does it face? The only place I had to put mine was on the side of the house and it faces east/west. Thx for posting the info on mine too.
