Finally, a little taste of summer weather
Something that I haven't seen for a while: shadows
I planted the same corn as Dixie; she harvested hers already. I only got a 20% germination rate this year, and I'll be surprised if I get any decent ears.
Here is a mess of peas. The frame on the left, covered with chicken wire, is five feet tall. The first two planting of pole peas are well over seven feet tall.
My second favorite part of veggie gardening is making stuff for it. This plant stand is made from the cages of three broken fans.

I knew you liked farming off the ground, but your 'fan cage' tower takes it to another level. And another. And another. And another.... Nicely done. Do you just over water the top and let gravity do the rest?

So now you have someone to talk to now in the garden ?
Or is it.. Only the "Shadow" knows.... ?
Or is it.. "Just me and my "Shaaadooow"
Im so glad you can see shadows !! It means you have sunshine, soak it up. I know what its like not to have sun ekk. The fan planter is awesome !!!! and I think your garden is great lookin, not up to par for you ( so you say cause I wasnt here last year) But here's and hoping it stays for a long time and you have an extra long growing season !!!
I like your set up, I tell folks about your table tops all the time

I'll bet the corn grows a foot today. Never say never. Mother Nature has a way of surprisin us.
I noticed by the last picture the shadow was gone! Arrrgghh. Come on down to So Cal. You'll be begging for overcast by Sept. LOL.
Nice looking setup. I keep thinking about TTs but decided I am better off creating more exercise for myself than minimizing it!
Good luck with the rest of the summer. Hope things respond to the sun.

Good catch, Chopper! The picture I took of it yesterday didn't turn out good because I didn't account for the sun! -so I subbed one from last month!
I was hoping water would run downhill from basket to basket, but the weedblock is too thick and drains very slowly. The plan is to fill it with strawberries for next year.
Re: Finally, a little taste of summer weather
Boffer did you get my PM? Yes we have been stressed about the car and Yes I've been off my game. You would think vacation would help but packing and getting everything ready. The car was stripped and totaled (found it in clearview).
