I prefer acidic tomatoes. I much prefer the "bite" that they have, and to me they just scream, "I'm a tomato! Eat me!" Bring the seeds and goo as well. I love that stuff. While most people dislike it, and more and more hybrids are being bred to remove that quality, it upsets me. I love it, to me that also defines a tomato. The husband prefers sketti sauce, ketchup, and chili for his tomato intake (blasphemy)!

So which are you? Mild or Acidic? Seeds and goo or neat and clean? And which is your favorite variety to grow? So far, this year, the Park's Whopper is my favorite. I have a few more I haven't tried yet, but that just seems to have the best taste thus far, only downside? The skin is super thick, could use it as shoelaces I tell ya!

I actually posted a picture on my blog of my windowsill of tomatoes for once. Yay for cell phones. (link in sig if your interested)

I am with you - I love our Jersey tomatoes when they come and boy are they yummy with the seeds and all!

I have even sliced tomatoes, drizzle olive oil over them along with seasonings, then bake them on a pan at 200 degrees for one hour - they are heavenly!
I eat some of them out of the oven and/or freeze the rest for winter.

My tomato plant has a lot of green tomatoes so almost there.

My cherry tomato plant has 2 red ones about ready to be picked and eaten. There are also alot of green tomatoes.

So we will enjoy the juicy tomatoes!

Happy Gardening Everyone....

I like the acidic feel and flavor. I do not have a favorite as of yet. So far I have only eaten Early Girl from my garden this year and it is still far superior to anything available in the store. It is like they are breeding the taste out of them - plus the issues with when you have to pick and shipping, etc.

Unfortunately. I bought a six pack of heirlooms. All different but it didn't state what they were so if I fall in love with one of them I am out of luck (or I can save seed - but they are all growing together so seed may not be true).

Doesn't matter. I fresh tomato from the garden can be eaten like an apple they are so good.
