An Ant Solution that WORKED for us

I just wanted to share a solution for getting rid of ants that my neighbor shared with me. We live in an area of the city that used to be a sandy ravine, and has always been infested with ants. We've tried exterminators, but they have let us know that unless EVERYONE on our block and surrounding blocks gets an exterminator, they will just return. We tried every ant solution the home and garden stores had to offer, but nothing has put more than a small dent in our ant situation, until now

They have great instructions there on how to make it. But to summarize it is a 1 part Borax to 3 parts sugar mixture, diluted with water (which I've heard of before), but this recipe calls for a dollop of peanut butter, and you put the mixture in a container with holes punched in the top for the ants to climb in and out. I submerged our containers into my SFG over a week ago, and haven't seen even one ant since. I'm over the moon excited!!

Being a pet lover, I will reiterate the warning on their web page:
CAUTION: Borax is toxic. Do not place the traps in areas where animals (like the family pet) can accidentally open the lid and ingest the poison.

Yes, thank you. I just purchased some out door ant traps but I am going to set one of these up as well. The ants have moved into the Mel's mix and are taking over.
