Is it too hot for broccoli?
My broccoli plants look good but never flowered. I didn't realize that I probably planted them the wrong time of year until I started doing research. Should I just pull them up?

what kind of temperatures are you having? How big are your plants. Did the broccoli head up yet? Do you have a picture?

It has been pushing 100 almost everyday for a while. I planted them from seed the last week of March and they are almost 2 ft. I will try to get a pic later today.

Re: Is it too hot for broccoli?
Hmm, since this is my first year growing broccoli I'm not sure what to say. 100 seems hot for these little guys. I know my broccoli starts to complain in the 90's. I harvested all of the central heads and have been working on all the side shoots for several weeks now. The temps are between 70 - 90. As it gets warmer it tries to flower on me. I guess it will be interesting to see what happens with your plants. You could always leave one just to see what happens. I know they take up alot of space. If you don't get heads on the broccoli you can always eat the leaves. Just watch out for cabbage worms.
Post a picture so we have a better idea.

Finally got a picture. You can see where the cabbage worms got to the leaves before I got them under control. Cucumbers on the left, squash to the right and now both of those have just taken off. And it is really hot!!! I really think I just need to pull the broccoli. It grows great, just no sign of producing. Any thoughts?

Hi
Your image link is calling for an action on another server-it's not going to work here on the forum. Can you upload the same pic from your computer? Or put your pic on a website with direct access?

Try this. Not sure if I did it correctly.
