Saucy Lady Tomato Seeds
Received my seed order from Seed n' Such (during their free shipping offer which expires 12/22/24), and the order included two free packets of seeds. One package was 30 Purple Basil seeds, and the other one was for a package of 5 Saucy Lady Tomato Seeds. After looking up the description of them, can't wait to get some planted and growing! The description says it is a determinate plant, but that it grows up to 5' tall. One of these plants will replace the Roma next year, but it will have to be in a cage.

Re: Saucy Lady Tomato Seeds
I wonder if they are a hybrid? I'm intrigued. While I love the heirlooms for their acidity in canning and fresh eating, it would be nice to have meatier ones with less waste.

I looked it up on Hoss, and the conclusion was: No, it is not a hybrid, because it is open pollinated.

"If cooking sauce is your thing, we have the tomato for you! The Saucy Lady Tomato is the absolute best sauce tomato we have ever tried. This determinate open-pollinated tomato produces extremely firm, deep red fruits that cook down beautifully to make the smoothest pasta sauces and pastes you’ve ever had. The Saucy Lady Tomato is super productive and will put out a large crop of medium-sized dense oblong fruits with a sweet flavor profile. These 3-4 oz. tomatoes are also excellent candidates for canning. 80 Days To Maturity."
