Help me choose pole bean support
I figured some beans would be yummy this summer, now all I need is some support. I have a 4x8 bed, and 4 squares available (although I really don't want to use all the 4 squares). Since I'm new at this I'm not sure how many squares to allot, or what to use as support. I guess I will probably have to dedicate at least 2 squares, more if I choose a bigger fancier support. My bed is in our side yard, and pretty visible to the neighbors, so I'd like it to be a little decorative.
So,which option would you choose? And if you would choose something I didn't think of, please suggest it!
Option 1: colorful spiral supports. I was thinking I could teepee them. This isn't very expensive and would take up the least squares, but the real question is, would they work?
Option 2: A 7 ft garden obelisk. Looks nice and fancy, a little bit more expensive, but again, will it work well to support the beans? Also, if it's totally covered w/beans do I need it to look so fancy? I am interested in the medium height.
Option 3 - A simple bean tower
Here's a picture of our garden. The support I choose will go in the top tier bed in the front center.
Thanks for your input! These boards are awesome!

Re: Help me choose pole bean support
I notice those are all from Gardener's Supply. Good quality stuff! If I was just going to do a square or two out in the open I'd use the bean tower since it can be folded up after use. I'm kinda practical though and don't mind stuff being plain since the plants will cover it.

Re: Help me choose pole bean support
I rather prefer the top picture and I do not think you will have a prblem with the beans climbing them properly as far as that is concerned.
Re: Help me choose pole bean support
love the spirals but I can tell you, my beans last year got as tall as my husband and he is 6'6"
Re: Help me choose pole bean support
I too love the spirals, but they will be covered up in a month, so I'd go with the bean tower -- practical and nice looking at the same time.
