Correcting improperly made Mell's Mix

First, the member is not alone. When I made my first Mel's Mix, I used a Kellogg's soil amendment instead of a blend of real composts. The plants stopped growing and the folks on this Forum helped me diagnose my mistake. It took about a year and a half to correct it.
More information will be helpful. How full were the beds when first filled. How full are the beds now? How old is the original MM?
I'm using raised beds (2' X 6' X 12") with a mix of compost from our local organic recycler, sphagnum, and coconut coir. The coir was because I couldn't find vermiculite, and I'm not pleased with it. Will be amending everything with the vermiculite, as the soil doesn't perform nearly as well with the coir here in the desert.
