building on sand bed?
we took down our above ground pool did not have money to run it anymore so i have been wanting to do sfg for a few years had mel s 1st book lost it. my question is was it bad idea to build on the sand or should i removed it i we build 3 and are going to build 2 more

Build on the sand bed -- that will give you great drainage. Just be sure to use weed barrier cloth on the bottom of your boxes.

I agree with Belfrybat... the sand will provide great drainage and should limit the number of weeds between the boxes. Good luck!

I'd have to agree. The sand bed sounds like a perfect spot to me.

My entire garden is on sand...
In fact the entire city sits on sand. It's reclaimed land, several meters worth of sand on top of clay.
Put a layer of topsoil on the sand, plant in that.
