Scottie's first SFG....
Put together my first Square Foot Garden and am very happy with the results. I used 2x8 redwood sides. Redwood has similar properties as cedar so used that. Put down grass screen under and started adding MelsMix.
After reading another post about soaking the mix I started really saturating the mix about half way through. When nearly full with the mix I did it again. Expecting rain the next several day so should be totally wet through and through. Used heavy nylon line as dividers.
As you can see I've got started with my plantings I planted some garlic, brussel sprouts, broccli, and cauliflower.

Really getting excited about SFG... Have a friend that has been using SFG for years and results are really great in her beds.
This will be my last year for a traditional row garden. AT 73 that tiller is trying to be the boss instead of me...

I too am new to sfg, the results from the grow mix out surpass my normal garden beds hands down.

Been there, done that! I have an old Troy-Bilt tiller that I've kept all these years only because it has a PTO chipper/shredder attachment that gets periodically used. Can't remember what year was the last time the tiller attachment was used.
