Looks like the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug, which punches holes in various fruits & vegetables and sucks the liquid out of them.

OhioGardener, I am not disagreeing but I can find very few pictures of insects/bugs in all their instar stages. This is link is from Rutgers and has a couple of the instars of The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug. I will continue looking, I know it is an instar and at times there can be a big difference from one stage to another. So if anyone has a different opinion or a picture of an adult or a few other instars please share.

Re: Bugs are cool. Who is this visitor?
I think my photo does not do justice to the shape of this creature, but the bug that was on my cuke did not have the shield shape body at all. It was the only camera angle I could get without first having her sign a license agreement.
A young friend of mine who is quite avid in all things living told me it was an assassin bug, and the body shape matches pretty close, but I didn't find any pictures of the wings that had that pattern.
This one is close, however:
Ah, the wonders of the world that God created.
