New members - What is the process now for joining the Forum?
I need some help from new members. What is the process now for joining? Something to do with a "I am not a Robot." Is it just a box to check or do you have to complete a simple test? A new prospective member asked for help on joining and apparently the process is a little different from when I joined.
Than you in Advance. Sanderson

Since you're a moderator and can delete accounts, you could sign up yourself with a new pseudonym and see how it goes. Then delete the account you made.
To do this, you will want to use private mode (Firefox) or Incognito mode (Chrome) to create the account. That way the browser won't be confused by your existing "sanderson" account. In chrome, you can open an incognito window by clicking on the 3 little dots in the upper right hand corner and selecting "New Incognito Window". In the new window navigate to the forum and attempt to create a new membership.

Re: New members - What is the process now for joining the Forum?
sanderson, not so long ago I'm Not A Robot was a photo with sections, a question was asked and you answered by checking the sections that applied. I think that has changed and to join groups I'm Not A Robot detects who you are and if it can not, you can't join a group. I don't know if ad blockers or going incognito has an effect on the Robot but every computer has a signature and that signature has to be seen as part of a security protocol. I fear I have already lived through the Golden Age of the Internet. Too many apps, they simplify while complicating. I know at times I have to turn off my ad blocker to gain access to certain sites and information.

Re: New members - What is the process now for joining the Forum?
Thanks, guys.
Mark, do you want to create a second account for the Forum, since you know how to do it? I did that a few years ago when the former Admins were helping me become the Admin. I botched up my Sanderson account somehow, so I don't want to go through that again, now that the two former Admins have disappeared. I'm not tech savvy, I just know enough to keep this Forum going along with Trolleydriver's help. While TD and I are just listed as Moderators, we do have the secret key to morph into Admin mode.
Dan, As I stated above, not tech savvy, here.

This is "trolleydriver". I just created a TESTTD account. I was required to check the "I am not a robot" box. As well I was required to select certain photos from a group based on a given criteria (in my case select photos that have a crosswalk in them). I am also running an AdBlocker and had no problem. This was done from my desktop PC. Piece of cake.

By the way, you get an email from the forum which requires a response in order to activate the new account.
