Anyone have a leafcutter bee house?
Was working in the SFG this weekend and noticed a black bee buzzing around, carrying what appeared to be purple flower petals. It kept disappearing into what looked like a potter wasp's nest. The two times I saw it emerge from the nest, it was not carrying petals.
Did a little research and identified the fascinating creature as a leafcutter bee. Also found out that they can be kept seasonally in a special bee-house. Does anyone here keep leafcutters? What's been your experience with them?
Thanks!

Thanks, AtlantaMarie! Leafcutters are pretty fascinating. Here is a good article about them: https://thehoneybeeconservancy.org/leafcutter-bee/
Hubby ordered a bee house for me... er... for them.
I will be sure to update here with my escapades in attracting and housing these neat little bees.

Love it! I have a ton of “other” bees, and they are fuzzy, I am sure some are these do-good-ers!
