Red Pontiac Potatoes planted a few days after St. Patrick's day.

I'm going to take my compost bin down and build another 4 x 8 sfg. It should be a great spot
since I've been composting on the ground for the last 3 years.

Looks good, Mr.B.  It is a little too early here for peppers - we have a good chance of frost up until mid-May - so, the only thing I have in the beds are the cold weather vegetables - Kale, Chard, Lettuce, Spinach, and Radishes.  Yesterday I moved the Rosemary back outside - hope I'm not too early on that.

Hi Mr. B, it's looking good.  Regarding your compost bins, are you needing less compost now that you downsized?  This will be my last summer making compost and I am wondering what I will do with the single chamber bin and 80-gallon tumbler.  May use the tumbler for "blended" bagged compost?

We borrowed your barrel idea for the front yard that we are changing to old age lower maintenance.  The first is an oak barrel reinforced on the inside with metal strapping and screws like you suggested.  The second is a cement barrel with a Mexican sage that had gone rampant.  It was severely pruned both top and roots.  Still a work in progress. @ Sanderson. Yes, just cutting back on compost. I turned 73 in March and feel like I'm 93.. lol.  I took a chance this year and bought 8 big bags of Miracle-Gro for the garden. I know it won't be as good as compost but it's less work.

You did good by putting the screws in the wooden barrels.  I found out the hard way that the metal bands will eventually slip down and the barrels will come apart without the screws. I wanted the wooden barrels last year but they cost about $30.00 each in my area so I bought about 12 of the plastic barrels on sale for $10.00.

I'm waiting for sweet potato plants to come out and I'm about done planting. Nothing but rain here for the last week but at least it's warming up.

Looking good, Mr. B!  And sanderson!

I am going to move my compost pile; it is just in a low wet spot and isn’t the right place...it was there by default anyways.  Need to explore options, I have never used any fencing or surround.

MrBooker - Question - how can you grow peas which grow in cool weather (I assume the first picture is peas) and beans which grow in warm weather (I assume the second picture is beans) at the same time. ????????

Yes, the top pic is Oregon Sugar snap peas and bottom pic is Early contender bush beans.
I think the trick is to plant "Early" maturing bush beans. The peas did come in just before the beans matured and are about done now. Their losing that "snap".... Like most of us do.. Very Happy
