Nice!!!! I planted my peppers and they are fresh seeds...nothing. I will not wait a week.OhioGardener wrote:Another beautiful spring day here in SW Ohio! Planted some radishes & spinach in one raised bed, and started some tomato & basil seeds indoors. Spread four 6f3 wheelbarrow loads of coffee ground on the flower beds - been collecting and saving the Starbucks coffee grounds all winter, and now the drums are empty again.

Thanks, CN! I enjoy working the beds, and the neighbors are always amazed at the amount of produce that comes from there every summer.

How fast the weather can change here in SW Ohio this time of the year. Yesterday was beautiful day, and I spent the afternoon working on some new flower beds, spreading compost on them and working it into the top few inches. Even planted some Comfrey roots that a friend sent me.
Then, last night the thunderstorms moved in, and the rain has continued all day today. Forecast for tonight is that late tonight the rain will turn to snow and accumulate up to 1.5". Then, tomorrow is supposed to be high of 36°F! Would have never guessed that yesterday when I was out working in the yard without a jacket!

We're swapping out with ya. We got yesterday afternoon, all day today, and all day tomorrow to git 'er done. Then we have 6 more days of rain in the forecast. I think I'm gonna make it, however. I got one bed done today, containers planted yesterday, and one more bed to do, tomorrow. Fingers crossed I don't poop out before the work is done.
It might as well be Spring!

Hope to add 2 or 3 new ones this season. BUT 1st things 1st.
Open, turn, harvest compost. Add browns from all around.
Frequent breaks & fluids.
Bad weather the last several days stopped work at the compost! So we started tomatoes & peppers indoors (soil blocks, aerogardens, DWC buckets, & paper cups) with much success.

Going out to 3-bin...
Finished working at our 3-bin composter. Added 15 gal. of table scraps & 3 large wheelbarrow loads of browns.
Soon the worms'll be crunchin'.
Spring cleaning challenges abound!
Still tryin' to get started on SFG/TT beds. More planning needed.
