Hello all
I am from Northland in New Zealand and hoping there are other kiwis or southern hemisphere people here as growing conditions are a little different down this end of the worl. Looking forward to sharing knowledge with everyone.
Just starting our on a Quail adventure and was searching for info on quail poop and its uses so if anyone has experience please jump right in

A warm welcome to you, Insomnz, from the winter in Ohio! Those of us in the northern snow belt love seeing your summer gardens this time of the year.

I don't know specifically about quail manure, but in general the manure of herbivores is always good for the gardens, especially if it is composted first.

Insomnz, if you do an inside search, you will find some replies to a query from 2012 on the 2nd page of 3 pages when you search, Quail Manure. I am of the opinion that all bird manure should be composted first, covered and combined with more browns, kept moist until it doesn't smell or look like bird manure anymore. This was brought to you by the good people who keep "poop in the loop".

Thanks Dan, I had been told it was fine to apply like rabbit poop but it will go into the compost bins along with everything else or bagged up and sold as we get more than we can handle. Lots of gardens ahere anyways so that will be a while off. Its not nearly as acidic or smelly as the chicken poop but not nearly as sweet as the rabbit poop either so I was caught in the middle. I have checked out the two quail entries already :-)  Have a great day

Welcome, Insomnz!  We are glad you found us!  As far as the other quail poo I agree; it is like chicken poo and needs composting, some things you can throw right in there, not generally poo!

Do you do SFG?  What do you like to eat?  Tell us about yourself! glad you\'re here

Thanks for the welcome. We are on pretty hilly country with a clay substrate so most of our growing is done in raised beds. I grow in any available space including closed in beds around a retaining wall by the house (Sunflowers and oregano pics) The produce (overgrown zucchini and cabbage) pulled out of the raised beds.
Hope the sunflower brings a bright image to those in the northern hemisphere in the grip of winter at the moment
I "hosted" the pics but have no idea where they have gone.. can anyone point me in the right direction and tell me how to put them up for display please
Sanderson, we have 28C today :-)
