For the past few years I have had great success with winter squash, in particular Canada Crookneck, which I grow vertically. This year the vines are growing well but I do not see any squash. 😞

Photo 1 - Harvested one-third of our garlic crop.

Photo 2 - our two sisters (strawberry corn plus acorn and butternut squash) are doing well together.

Your garden is looking so healthy. I hope you get a "late bloomer" Canadian squash.

Arghhh!  Just saw a dreaded Squash Vine Borer moth near my one and only Golden Zucchini plant.  The SVBs took out my Golden Zucchini last year so this year I am also growing Ronde de Nice Squash as my primary summer squash.

Harvested Cucumbers, Golden Zucchini (not in photo), Golden Wax Bush Beans and Rattlesnake Pole Beans. The latter are only just starting to produce but the vines are up to the top of the eight foot trellis.

WOW! TD, I remember the shots you took of a barren wasteland last winter. Your season may be short, but it's way more productive than my long one. Stuff here just plods along during the summer months. Sad

Nice bean haul, TD, and gardens in general!  The Japanese Beetles are so bad here I gave up on beans.  I might try on cusp seasons, but they like the heat...plus we are not that great at eating them.  Just being honest with myself.

My SFG and other beds have been relatively pest free this summer.  We have had some Japanese Beetles on the rose bushes and raspberry bushes. There were not as many as previous years and they did the most damage to one rose bush.  On a positive note, I have seen only one SVB Moth and one Squash Beetle.  I have not lost any plants to these pests.  In addition I have had almost no leaf miners in my Swiss Chard and very little slug damage on the veggies.

Harvested today ... ten pounds of tomatoes, three pounds beans (mostly rattlesnake beans),  banana peppers, cucumbers, and white scallop squash.  Also a small trial harvest of a few carrots and potatoes with many more still in the garden. The Green Striped Cushaw Squash was harvested a few days ago by our daughter-in-law while we were out of town.
