Hi from West Coast Central Fl.
New to sq. foot gardening so here to learn. I did buy Mel's 2nd edition, so I'm ready to try. It's just so hot still. I did buy shade cloth but I still need to put it up. I'm 61 and have copd so it's not easy. I hope I learn a lot. Hello

Re: Hi from West Coast Central Fl.
Hi, Des. Welcome to the Forum from California, the land of hot summers and shade cloth! Slow and steady is the key for many of us with limitations. I'm almost 70! SFG lends itself to many variations of beds, trellises, shade, frost, freeze, hail, and insect protection. All of my beds are off the ground which makes it easier on the back. You may want to browse the Gallery for photos and the Search box for various topics.

Hi, Des! Ohio here! Glad you found us, and have begun your SFG discovery! So many options for you. I have old beds, on the ground, but there are so many options in this method, that I know you will find your way! Table tops being one of the options (super jealous! )
Would love to hear more about your experiences, and what you love to eat, or just want to try! Up here, we are winding down, and we live vicariously through all you 3-4 season gardeners!
