Don't know if anyone has heard of FreeCycle but we have it in our communities.  If you have something to give away, you can post it on FreeCycle or if you are in need something, you can post whatever it is you need. Someone might have it for free.

We have a local group in the town nearest to us, but it doesn't get any activity. People post things that they have, or things they want, but nobody responds to the requests.  It is a good concept/idea, but it doesn't get advertised well yet.  Hope it catches on.

Same here, OG, no one uses it.  A local young lady has started a facebook group for our county swap and shop.  They all meet to swap items in a local parking lot on a pre-set day.  A very social affair.  Wish we had a freecycle group that was active near us.  Your lucky Mr. Booker to have one close to you.
