Yes, CN, the Mexican Sunflowers (Tithonia) are beautiful, and if kept deadheaded they bloom right up until frost kills them in the fall. The butterflies and hummingbirds love them, too! We always have some come volunteer from last year's seeds. The only butterflies, other than all of the fritillaries, we have seen so far this year are the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail and the Black Swallowtail. The Monarchs don't arrive here until mid-June.

Beautiful! Thanks for the tip about deadheading. I may not have done that if not prompted.OhioGardener wrote:Yes, CN, the Mexican Sunflowers (Tithonia) are beautiful, and if kept deadheaded they bloom right up until frost kills them in the fall. Beautiful, SR! Our Redbuds are all done blooming, and leafing out already. They are beautiful when they bloom, though. Ironically, we used to live near Red Bud, ILL, and there wasn't a Redbud tree in sight.

This picture was snapped before all the rain began, I thought it looked so pretty I better get a pic before all the petals were washed and blown away! That’s ironic about the Illinois town???OhioGardener wrote:Beautiful, SR! Our Redbuds are all done blooming, and leafing out already. They are beautiful when they bloom, though.
