Hi my name is Billie jo and I just moved to south Dakota. I'm trying raised bed and regular garden beds (if I ever dig all the massive rocks out)

and from Northern California. I started twitching when you mentioned the "massive rocks." Every time we put a tree or plant in the ground, we have to dig out a boulder. That's why I use raised beds and SFG for most of my garden and BTE (Back To Eden, no till wood chips) for the rest.@Billie Jo Brown wrote:Hi my name is Billie jo and I just moved to south Dakota. Looking forward to your gardening progress. We'd love to see pics -- before and after.
Billy Jo, Welcome to the Forum from California! Rocky soil is one of the reasons that ALL NEW Square Foot Gardening is so great. Just leave the ground as is and build up. Have you had a chance to read "All New Square Foot Gardening" by the creator and founder, Mel Bartholomew? It's easy to understand and quick to read. You will never have to fight with rocks again.
