Summerweight fabric - easy way to make pole pockets?
Hi folks! I have summerweight fabric to put over my hoops, now that it is in the 80s and my lettuce is wilting. I'm tired of anchoring that fabric with bricks/miscellaneous rocks and having to shift all that every time I want to take off or on the fabric. I have tried garden staples and they too are a pain. Need to save my back.
My solution would be to make horizontal pockets (like rod pockets on curtains) on 2 sides of the fabric, then insert bamboo or other kind of poles. Is there an easy non-sew way of making those pockets? Otherwise I would have to hand-sew the stuff. I thought of using duct tape, but I'd bet tape would just deteriorate eventually. Thanks in advance for any advice you might have.

Would this help? You can make them easily enough.

Thank you Turan! Are they cut-up pieces of PVC pipe, or something else? Will keep that in mind. I still would like some ideas about making rod pockets tho - anyone?

I believe the purchased ones are from PVC pipe. I made a bunch from that black irrigation tubing. I cut 4-5" lengths and then slit up one side. It works reasonably well.
