been gardening for decades now with as many as 7 different gardens at 3 different locations. down to 4 now at one location ( if you count the edible ornamentals in the front yard ). been reading a lot the last few years about SFG and container gardening so I am gonna go for it. I have 2 gardens that are 5x12 that I am gonna do this with. I'm gonna also build 2 4x4 ( maybe more ) gardens for asparagus and strawberrys at least and I am currently looking to plant 2 pawpaw trees out front and well as a variety of berrys and grapes along the side and back fence portions of the house. the house next door burned down a few years ago so I am tring to get that property and I will move most of the gardens over there but that's likely a few years away. I plan on retiring in 3 years but still work but only during the winter months and would like to be as self sufficient as possible. everything I own is paid off EXCEPT the house and that's only about 404 dollars a month so ezpz. this house was built with a cellar of sorts in the basement so hopefully I can jar/pickle/store a lot of stuff in there.have already started about 200 long season crops in the basement ( a lot gets given away ) so I start planting next weekend. FINALLY.

right now its just dirt and compost. LOL. I will post when something is growing. our winter has lasted longer then usual this year but I think we are done after this weekend.
