Howdy!

Near Dayton Ohio here. Just a small back yard garden and a few larger containers. Lot's of fighting fungus, but usually manage to get a moderate harvest.

Tomatoes are my favorite and a must!  Store bought tomatoes, and even most Farmer's Market tomatoes just don't have the vine ripened tomato flavor I crave. BLT's are a MUST.

This year I have a wide variety, all of which I started from seed, other than 4 larger Mortgage Lifter plants I was given by a friend.

A few peppers, some chives and Leeks, Peas (2 types) and my first try at Asparagus, all from seeds.

Cold weather here lately!  Looking forward to planting after the 15th of April.  I need to buy some soil products to fill in a newer addition to my in-ground beds. Thinking about a combination of things?

Hi CS, Welcome to the Forum from California! glad you\'re here

Is the newer addition a raised bed? Or, is it a new another row garden?

Hi from Dayton Ohio Empty Semi-Raised beds?

Post  csmartin33 4/8/2018, 3:17 pm

It's still below freezing here in the mornings, and snow off and on lately so waiting to get these veggies I started from seed, and a few Mortgage Lifters that are huge comparatively that a friend grew under lights.

The bed on the right is from 4x4 Cedar posts I picked up when I was in Texas. I wish I had more!Hi from Dayton Ohio Img_3010

Hi CS. Welcome from Atlanta, GA! Glad you've joined us!

I see you're right next to a fence too... Do you have problems with grass/weeds growing between the fence & your beds? I'm to the point of placing a thin strip of plastic between them to prevent it.

Hey, CS!  Welcome from a fellow Buckeye!  It has been soooo cold and wintery, this has been a really strange spring.

Glad you are here!  I have some re-purposed window boxes that make up about half of my SFG, they are great, really.  Deep-ish, they are old but they still hold Mel’s Mix and compost!

Come on over to the North and Central Midwest forum to chat with like-weathered, similar pests, diseases, etc. folks chime in!

Can’t wait to hear how your season goes!  Take lots of notes!

glad you\'re here
