Welcome to the forum, rosetone!
I'm in zone 6b. We have sunshine today and 59 degree weather. Planting peas is on my "to do" list for St. Patrick's Day.

Re: Greetings from Memphis!
Thanks y'all! Gorgeous to me is 60 and sunny... it's been so cold and cloudy with heavy rainfall here. Truly dreary!
I found this forum via a search about the garden pea Desiree Dwarf Blauwschokkers that I got planted today. I put 6 seeds in a good size pot and a few more in a small patch of my garden. Along with a few heirloom radishes. And a 6pk of red romaine lettuce that I got at home depot. Also, a couple very pretty violas from HD. I'm smiling for sure!
I will happily share some pics once I learn how to!

Rosetone, Welcome to the Forum from central California! It's so interesting how folks find this Forum. I think this is a friendly site and we do everything we can to keep it that way. You can find a lot of info through the Search feature. We are here to help.
Re: Greetings from Memphis!
Same here. My frustration is that we had 6 weeks of that gorgeous weather when it should have been winter. Now we're getting the cold, wet, dreary stuff when it should be spring. Summers here in Redding, CA are so brutal, if we don't get good weather spring and fall, we don't get a decent garden at all. Good thing we love kale. It thrives no matter what Mother Nature throws at us.rosetone wrote:Thanks y'all! Gorgeous to me is 60 and sunny... it's been so cold and cloudy with heavy rainfall here. Truly dreary!

I love that you are having gorgeous planting weather already! We still have snow on the ground here... so it'll be a few more weeks yet before we can say we're experiencing gorgeous weather! Welcome, from a fellow new member!

Welcome, Rosetone!
I grow Desiree Dwarf Blauwschokkers! Are you growing them as snow peas, soup peas, or some of each?
I'm in central Pennsylvania, and the weather here is not yet gorgeous. It's still a little too cold to plant peas. Soon though!

Re: Greetings from Memphis!
Definitely both. Soups and salads are the mainstays of my diet. Hopefully my yield will be enough to at least make it out of the garden! This is the first time planting this variety.BeetlesPerSqFt wrote:I grow Desiree Dwarf Blauwschokkers! Are you growing them as snow peas, soup peas, or some of each?
Thanks again to everyone for being so welcoming!!

Hey. Rosetone. Welcome! I lived in Nashville for 6 years, and loved Memphis for its jazz and cool scene...that was a while back!
Glad you found us, we would love to hear about your plans, what you love to eat, besides peas!
