Re: New SFG box-Humanitarian way
Well, the new bed is really doing great! I have two different squashes: Dirani Lebanese in the front (Cucurbita maxima, Summer) and Lakota in the rear (Cucurbita pepo hybrid, Winter).
The flowers on the Lebanese squash are absolutely large! I'll have to get a better angle to take a picture later.

Gorgeous! My humanitarian bed still looks like leaves and rabbit poo. It also settled down over 50%, so I'll need to fill it up again this fall. I won't need it this year anyway, so it's all good.

My first zucchini:

And second zucchini harvest and some Bloody Butcher tomatoes:

Somebody please point out how to get my inserted pictures smaller.

Your harvest looks so pretty. For smaller photos, take horizontal pics.
Re: New SFG box-Humanitarian way
The heat has arrived! Last Friday my squash was very droopy at 87 degrees F.:

So I started deep watering daily and I mulched with my extra compost. Today at 90 degrees F., at 3:09 pm, it's looking better:

It looks better, but I'll need to trim it so it won't require as much water. There's six plants in there. Tomorrow will be 92 degrees F. and Wednesday will be 93 degrees F.
