Gonna combine, as I realize (no activity!LOL) NOTHING is going on in our gardens at this time!
It has been fairly warmish until now, but winter has occurred! Gonna change my avatar too. Hopeful or winter, still undecided!
Zero going on except planning, putting the compost pile to bed, and reading!

First real snow today, about 3/4 inch, more towards Columbus. Just enough to make roads slippery! Cold and windy too!
What about the rest of the Midwest, any white stuff?

Isn't it awesome? I posted my list in the seed catalog thread. If you see anything you like, I'd be happy to share.Scorpio Rising wrote:Got my Baker’s Creek freebie today!!!!

Nice, thanks CN!!! I will do the same, and ditto for sharing. With the space saving method we are so lucky to have, seeds last for a long time, beyond their useful germination life, so makes sense!countrynaturals wrote:Isn't it awesome? Snowy here. And cold! Not sure if anything is going on out there, but here in the warmth of my home I am trying to plan some fruit plantings. Along with checking out the catalogs!

Moving toward the new year, slowly and very coldly I might add! Frigid here...we have 2-3 inches of snow over Christmas. It was pretty! Got my 4th catalog today, Territorial Seeds!!! YAY!
Officially seed catalog obsession season, solstice has come and gone, days getting longer!
Loving the new varieties! Gonna post on the varieties thread...

Happy New Year 2018!!!!
Well, another hear before us! Exciting! I have spent the day with my Skippy’s app, catalogs, paper diagrams, and making lists of what I loved and what I am abandoning! Have enjoyed watching the birds too. They are out and about, looking for calorie dense food and non-frozen water sources. It has been sub zero here for a week now, and we have another week of it in store before a break to more seasonable stuff.
What are you northern Midwesterners doing, other than staying inside?
New plants? I think I am going to give eggplant a try!
