Last season, I had several tomato diseases hit my plants - still was able to get some fruit but not as many as I had hoped.

This year I decided to make MAJOR changes in my growing habits to see if I could prevent or cut down the volume of diseases I had - everything from early blight to anthracnose.
1. used all new MM in plant bags and in beds
2. mulched with leaves
3. cleaned all used stakes with chlorox solution (1:9)
4. wearing surgical gloves when I work with the plants
5. have a fungicide on hand - just in case!
6. Oh, and tried to plant resistant varieties

Hope these changes work!!

I tried all of those except the gloves.  I even tried a resistant variety.  No luck.  Now I just spray as regularly as possible with copper fungicide or daconil if necessary.  These do not kill the disease but prevent it from spreading if you continually remove the diseased leaves.  Early Blight is my main problem.  get it every year no matter what I do.  From what I have read, you have to start spraying before you get the disease.  Copper Fungicide or Daconil are preventative measures.

What brand of fungicide are you using???

This year I also have red aphids and little bitty white flies.  I am using insecticidal soap on these and it seems to be helping.

As for fungicides, I have a choice of:
1. Neem oil
2. Garden Safe Fungicide3
3. Bonide's copper fungicide

Still trying to decide which one to use.

if you are a melaleuca customer I found this recipe for tomatoes blight in R.M. Barry wellness guide.

“TOMATOES
Add 1⁄8 cup of Tough & Tender to a 5-gallon water can and water the soil around the tomato plants every other day. They will need about three applications. Not only will it get rid of the blight, but also you will have delicious tomatoes from your “mini forest.” (Spraying the tomato plants themselves does not seem to work.)”
