Well actually dehydrated, I normally use a solar dehydrator that I built but it's not worth pulling it out for a small batch so the other day I was snooping around in one of the local thrift stores when I spotted a small Ronco five tray dehydrator still in the box and the box looked new well for under $4. it came home with me. The tomatoes were coming fast keeping me and my neighbors supplied so I took it for a test drive worked great in about 18 hours I now I have Three trays of dried tomatoes I like them as a snack on while watching TV at night.

This is the one I have had for many years! The price was right, to be sure.

Has, I don't think there is a photo, just the name Ronco 5-tray mentioned.

OK OK I'm bad, I know everyone likes pictures! so here a picture Not much to look at and I'm only using two trays as like I mentioned the other day I only have seven plants and with the heat down here there starting to shut down for the summer. So without further delay here it isSun Dried Tomatoes Img_2626 To the right I just cooked the last of my beets, To the left is a muskmelon it's only about the size of a softball but it fell off the vine so I will check it out

I got myself a true bargain the other day. My son was bringing his dehydrator to the Salvation Army since he no longer makes beef jerky. He's on a health kick.
Anyway, I got mine for free and intend to use it this year. It worked great for jerky so it must be good for tomatoes.

Beautiful! Thanks for posting it.

QB, good for you for taking son's dehydrator off his hands.

The tomatoes are rolling in faster than we can eat or can.  I'm thinking about slicing and drying as the temps are going to be hot and dry this week.

I've never done this and am wondering if there is anything special I have to do.  Leave or remove the pulpy seeds?  Or, is is just a matter of slice 1/4" inch thick and set on the trays in the screening in the home-made dehydrator box?
