Middle South- Weather Concerns
Folks in the middle South need to be on alert twice this week. There is a moderate tornado possibility for Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and other areas, especially the area between Nashville and Atlanta for Wednesday and Thursday.
Then, over the weekend, the northern parts of this region might expect a late frost. Nashville is on the line where it could go either way Saturday night-Sunday morning.
The forecast calls for 36 degrees. Our yard last had a frost and freeze at the end of February. The average date for last Spring frost for here is actually today, so the probability is very high that the last frost did not occur in February.
Some areas around here had frost in March, but the southwest side of the city is always 3 to 5 degrees warmer than the other sides. This morning, it was actually 8 degrees warmer here on our side of town.

Yep. Welcome to the south!
It was 47 here this morning after a day of wind, rain, thunder & lightening. We apparently had 20 tornadoes in GA on Monday. I haven't listened to the news this morning, so who knows about yesterday. But we had lots of flooding!
Today is sunny (so far) & windy.
Everyone please check in!

And we apparently had a 2.5 earthquake in east-central GA last night along with the storms...
Re: Middle South- Weather Concerns
Very Windy. I had to put some plastic covers over the corn to help keep them from blowing over. Can't put my seedlings outside either. Just waiting till this cold front passes to start planting more tomatoes. Maybe Sunday??? Nope, just checked the 10 day forecast. Looks like Monday or Tuesday before the lows stay above 50. 6 inches of rain over the last two days.

Made it through the rain and wind (so far) Drain pipe plugged up so the garden and septic flooded, ugh. Just have to get through a possible frost tonight.

Re: Middle South- Weather Concerns
We escaped both weather events. The severe weather went south and east of us. This morning, the temperature bottomed out in the upper 30's with no frost.
It was a picture perfect day here, but it was not one for gardening, as an overdue hike in the hills was called for.

Productive weekend. Got most everything planted My first time planing everything form seedlings I grew. (Fingers crossed)
While I was admiring my handwork, it occurred to me that I forgot Cucumbers. How does that happen?!?!?!?!
Oh yeah, in the midst of all of the planting, I demo'd our back deck to start building a new bigger, better cooler one.
Too many projects for April. I will add pictures soon.

April 14 should be about 75 degrees in the Music City.
I guess all that hot chicken all the tourists are coming to eat has created an artificial heat zone. The temperature in our part of the city just went to 90.5 according to WU.
