Re: What are you eating from your garden today?
Wow... Rough way to find out, but congratulations! And I'm glad you're okay!!!
Re: What are you eating from your garden today?
YIKES! I missed this! How are you doing on the new meds? I had to be on warfarin for awhile -- no fun and no broccoli.plantoid wrote:Currently nothing for being on Warfarin has meant I've had to forgo a lot of greens out my ANSFG beds.
Good news is I took a funny turn two days ago & ended up getting a blues & twos high speed trip to a special cardiac care unit .
Initially it was thought I'd had a heart attack or a stroke but it was apparently related to my warfarin levels .
So I've been taken off it and put on some new meds that can be quickly reversed if I get another bleed internally .
That's good , for it means I'll only have to get six monthly blood & liver function checks , but best of all it means that now I'm on the new meds I can eat as many greens as I like .......no matter how much vitamin K they contain .

Guess who will be sowing some cabbages etc. tomorrow ?

Asparagus
My very first asparagus harvest!
I'm not getting as much as I was hoping for, but there's always next year. I'm not much of an asparagus fan, anyway.

Wood chips. Nothing growing outside here yet. Oh, wood chips are not tasty or full of any thing good for you. Oh well. Spring is near.

A nice bunch of lettuce for a salad. Of course, at this time of year, I had to add store bought tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots.

Re: What are you eating from your garden today?
I took some store-bought potatoes, evaporated milk, and butter; and some volunteer claytonia, bolting over-wintered turnip greens (turnip itself was hollow and... occupied), overwintered rutabaga, parsnips, and overwintered leeks from the garden and made a colcannon. The colcannons I've had/made before have been okay. This one was delicious. I was originally figuring I'd give some of the leftovers to a friend, but after tasting it I decided I didn't want to share.

Re: What are you eating from your garden today?
Last night we had a weird night time temperature of 34 degrees, luckily I harvested the first asparagus of the season, just under 1 pound. Having it tonight with our steak. Just have to decide whether to make it with my girls eggs/ Hollandaise sauce, or roast it and top with butter...mmm...such a lovely dilemma. Thank you Mr. Mel Bartholomew in heaven, indebted to you forever.

Strawberries, English peas and lettuce. (not together) I think our snow helped the strawberries a lot!

The garlic I prematurely harvested! I'm sick so I wanted "health" veggies in my own chicken broth.
