New SFGer
Hi everyone,
I am Nww to gardening and decided to go for my first SFG, built it and used the mix officially recommended. I just wanted to share a picture of it and get your comments on how it's doing. How can a share a picture or video?

A warm welcome from a cold and snowy Ottawa, Canada.

Looking forward to hearing more about your SFG.

Re: New SFGer
Hi Kareemtolba. Welcome from Atlanta, GA (SE USA). Glad you're here!
Have you read All New SFG, 2nd Edition? If not, I'd strongly recommend it before you go digging.... Mel made it easier for us as he went along...
I have a friend who worked on the new Children's & Women's Hospital. Is it open yet?
Looking forward to seeing your garden grow!

from Kelejan

What season is happening there right now?
Re: New SFGer
Hey Kelejan, after "snow covered" I am shy to say it's winter here
the kind of winter you need shorts, t-shirt and a light vest for

Re: New SFGer
Hey AtlantaMarie, yup if it's the Medicare one; then it's up and running
I did not read the book itself, I watched tons of videos and read a lot of pages. I will post a picture tomorrow to get some pointers.

Re: New SFGer
Kareem, I'm late welcoming you to the Forum.
I spoke with someone from the Middle East, yesterday, and he said that the summers are absolutely hot, hot! So, my thoughts are that your better growing season would be "fall-winter-spring" months. I live in the Northern California Region (see Home Page) and the summer can get up to 110*F (43*C). The Southwestern Desert Region also deals with hot summers up to 46*C. You will find information on mulching and shading to get the plants through hot weather in topics from these Regions. Again, welcome to the Forum!

Sound ideal weather for me, Kareem. Remind me not to come there in your summer.
