Re: CANADIAN REGION: What are you doing in November 2016
It happened; I slept well and woke in time to have breakfast and watch the whole thing right from the beginning. It was wonderful to real all the small print.
Returning to bed now to catch up on a bit more sleep. After all, it is Sunday, and I am not going to watch The Grey Cup.
I bet TD will be though, and I hope you get your win.
My small task later on will be to sort out my peony seeds, as I have some sprouted seeds that need to go into the fridge and the sprouted seed already in the fridge need to be potted. Thisi is the beginning of the five years to get peony flowers from seeds.
Luckily my friend who has shown peonies and won a few prizes, will be giving me a couple of cuttings to get me going for perhaps next years show.

YIKES! That reminded me to stir my tomato seeds, fermenting on top of the fridge. Thanks, Kel.Kelejan wrote:My small task later on will be to sort out my peony seeds, as I have some sprouted seeds that need to go into the fridge and the sprouted seed already in the fridge need to be potted. You're Welcome, Country Naturals.
I often find that some one mentioning what they intend to do, spurs me to get something done as well.

I have one 2 year old peony plant, and love it! Got it from the nursery here, and it bore one bloom the first year I had it. It was a few years old when I got it I am sure....I need more!

Re: CANADIAN REGION: What are you doing in November 2016
My friend, the peony grower, took me to the peony show last year and again this year and I was quite blown away by the many varieties and the beauty of them. The hall was ablaze with colour and form.
The sad thing is that I remembered I had a lovely pink peony in my garden that came up year after year. It was there when we moved in. After I had visited the show for the first time, I remembered that I had not seen it the previous spring. I looked for it, but it was no longer there.

I remember my grandmother had beautiful peonies! I think that's one of the things that has stirred my love of gardening. And I will confess, that is one of the non-food/medicinal things I have considered growing.

Today in Ottawa
- Freezing rain - 10+ car pile-up on one of the major highways
- Ottawa's football team - Celebration parade today for their win over Calgary in last Sunday's Grey Cup Championship
- Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds Catalog - still in transit - waiting with bated breath
- Gardening - Not going to happen except for checking the temps in the compost bins.

Congratulations on Ottawa's win in the Grey Cup.
Today's high temp +4C, tonight -!C and possibly first snow of the season.
Just over three weeks to the Winter Solstice.
