Size of cherry tree leaves
Last spring, I planted an extra-dwarf cherry tree. Unlike its predecessors, it has survived and thrived!
In fact, the tiny 3' tree is now around 5' tall, and some of its leaves measure 8" in length! Is this normal? Or is it merely a sign that the tree is happy in its location and with its sunlight and nutrients?

I can't answer your question but I will say this ... be careful, be very careful. It could be a Triffid. Make sure you wear eye protection.

Triffids
I Googled this term. Having just read Preston & Child's "Beyond the Ice Limit," I concluded that Triffids proliferate by penetrating the eyes, rather than the nose.
I do have a call in to the company that supplied the cherry tree....

Re: Size of cherry tree leaves
Donna, as the tree matures, the leaves will become smaller. Apple and pear trees do that too, maybe not so dramatically!
