He kept saying for 200 mL of water to use a 3% solution or 60 grams of sea salt.
He said the calculation was 200 times .03.  Anyone else see how this is wrong or am I missing something.   200 times .03 would be 6 grams not 60...right?
That's going to be one big crock of mighty salty ferment..yuck

Good catch LM. I don't know if this is helpful,LM. can you decipher some of the responses?

Do you mean a 2L container? That is larger than a 200ML measuring jug!

Don Duncan9 months ago
+Andy Mahoney 2L is ten times bigger. John had to be using a 2L container if you do the math: .03% solution = 60 grams in 2L, not 200ML. Also, note the size visually.

gorgeousmike7 months ago
+Don Duncan 16:22 he clearly says 2ML of water. Maybe visuals deceive.

Don Duncan7 months ago
+gorgeousmike What's your point? John misspoke (he called 2L, 2ml). Andy questioned. I explained. Also, the visual clearly shows a 2L, not 2ml. So two clues point to a mistake.

+Andy Mahoney yeah its obviously 2000ML which is also 2 liter
sincerely an european ;P

+gorgeousmike and at 17:24 he clearly says 4 Liters of water. at this point he had added 2 of those cans.

+Andy Mahoney He said 10 liter. That is enough room for all contents.
It also says 10 liter in the written description.

Sure, my responses will continue in red.

2,000 mL is 2liters.  I can tell he is using the same size glass container I have.
Now I understand .  In my cabinet I found that same large glass container that was being used in the video.  It is 2 liters or 2,000 mL.   So 2,000 times .03 or 3percent would be 60 gram,s as John Kohler was describing.  He simply was saying 200 by mistake.

Yes, 10 liter total capacity for the entire crock.  The veggies displaced some of the space.  All he was doing was continuing to add a 3% solution of salt water till it was full.
