BTK Biological Insecticide
Mrs TD bought some Safer's BTK Biological Insecticide. The main ingredient is Bacillus Thuringiensis, sub-species Kurkstaki. It also contains sulfites. She wants to use it on her strawberry plants in the SFG because they have small green caterpillars that are eating the leaves. If it's safe I could use it on cabbage, etc. BTW I've been picking the caterpillars off the strawberry plants by hand.
The label says it controls caterpillars, including cabbage worm, tomato hornworm, tent caterpillars, gypsy moth, leafrollers and other listed insects on vegetables, fruits, shade trees, ornamentals and evergreens.
Question:
- Does anyone know if this is organic and safe to use in the SFG?

Re: BTK Biological Insecticide
I use Thuricide ((BT) made by Bonide. It does not say Organic on the container. But it is what everyone uses for Caterpillars. The actual BT part is organic but then I think they may mix other things in the solution which makes it not 100% organic. I think.

Re: BTK Biological Insecticide
I used the Safer product the first 2 years. Now I use the bridal tulle. I would use it if I ever grew anything susceptible again during the caterpillar season. There are 2 prior threads under "bacillus"
