I'm pretty late to this thread! Got 5.1 inches of rain the night of the big storms; I could almost watch the garden grow! I think my toms grew a foot right before my eyes! Have picked the first carrots and peppers which is always a great day.

I pulled a carrot Saturday and it was too skinny...thickest was at top about the diameter of my pinky tip...waiting! A couple beets are ready. And still need to get those taters in!
I did eat my first small cuke....wonderful! Cannot wait for peppers! I had a terrible year last year. Only 2 peppers total.
Herblover, what kind of peppers are you growing?

Re: N & C Midwest: June 2016!
Scorpio, I want your potatoes! As I have spaces in my garden from harvesting, I thought potatoes would be a great filler - I cannot find any seed potatoes anywhere. I might go to the local grocer and see if they have any old spuds that didn't sell that may have sprouted... I didn't imagine one could grow potatoes in less than a foot of soil!
