Hi From Upstate South Carolina
Hi,
57 year old male. Have square foot gardened in the past. Just finished my first 8 ft x 4ft gardening structure at my new home and can't wait to get started again. Beautiful deep black soil, ready to plant. Hope to plant soon. I am having a problem with neighborhood dogs digging in my garden. I am sure this has been asked and answered before, but I have never dealt with it and can't find it. How can I stop this digging without resorting to lead poisoning LOL.
Thanks
Doug

Lay some chicken wire or some such over the top of the bed. Or if you have the book All New Square Foot Gardening, Mel shows how a critter cage can made to lift on and off. If you haven't read it, I would highly recommend reading it. Things have change a bit over the years.

Let us know how you do.

Hey, Doug, Welcome from Ohio!
Yes, I agree, grab a chunk of fence to lay over for now, if it continues, you will probably have to construct a box top thing to keep the little buggers out!
I agree with CC, get a copy of the All New SFG 2nd Ed. It is a lot easier. Keep us posted!

Thanks for the kind welcome. I will definitely order his new book.I found the older I get the more I like EASIER. Just got back from Tractor Supply. Electric fence will be in stalled tomorrow
. At least they will avoid lead poisoning. Shouldn't take many encounters to decide it is better to dig ELSEWHERE !!!
Thanks
Doug

Thanks
Doug

Oh yeah, that will definitely do it. One good jolt, and they will not be back!
