Lower South November 2015
Hey all, hope you guys are dryer then me. Its been rainy and muggy here for the past few days. I'm busing unpacking, we moved over Halloween. As soon as I find my seeds ill gets some pots and get an apartment patio size gardening growing. Not big but its better than nothing, right. What's growing in your garden this raining November day? Or are you cleaning out your garden and getting ready for spring? Let us know...

Re: Lower South November 2015
Rain, rain and more rain. It has been so rainy and drizzly and overcast here that the seeds maturing on my buckwheat plants are actually sprouting while still attached to the flower head of the buckwheat. ARG, I am trying to save buckwheat seeds to replant this spring. The entire flower head does not mature all at once. A few seeds at a time. I was waiting until the entire flower head was ready to harvest. Because of the constant moisture, the mature seeds (still on the flower head) are actually sprouting and little rootlets are growing out of the seeds.

Re: Lower South November 2015
Planted my garlic yesterday after a break in the rain. Caterpillars stripped my winter bok choy during the rainy days. All was well on Mon and yesterday all I had were stripped ribs. I BTed them anyway and hope the centers will grow out.mschaef wrote:Hey all, hope you guys are dryer then me. Its been rainy and muggy here for the past few days. It kinda makes sense though. Seed is mature and is constantly damp

Re: Lower South November 2015
This last week we had 7.5 inches of rain and only 1/2 day of sun all week. Another 1.5 inches is forecast for today and .5 inches for tomorrow. Then mostly a week of mostly sunny weather. My lettuce leaves are beginning to turn moldy. I covered my buckwheat that I am trying to harvest with a tarp so the seeds will dry and maybe will quit sprouting.

Re: Lower South November 2015
Rain, rain,a day of sun and more rain, but today I noticed the garlic I planted last week has sprouted. Temps dropped from 80 yesterday to 56 this morning. Nov is here and is up and down. Real frosts not expected for a while, average 1st frost is around Thanksgiving.
Wish I had some help in the yard. I offered to pay a teen but he didn't show up.
